Taps was dumped as a puppy in front of the gates of the public dog pound in Preslica, Bosnia. Parvo then was endemic to the shelter, and without his vaccinations, Taps' chances of survival were low. Svetlana, who then worked as a volunteer at the shelter several times a month, took him home with her. Now Taps lives in the šarplaninac compound where his big presence fits right in with the big dogs, despite being rather small.
Taps has quite a temperament. He is very distrustful of people, but also craves their attention. The result is some very ambivalent behavior where he runs at you from behind, touches your legs and wants attention. But as soon as you even think of extending a hand, he runs off again, barking. Only to come right back at you again. With his big dark eyes, funny bark and endless amount of energy, he certainly is a presence. Taps shares a compound with the šarplaninac dogs and loves playing with big Balloo, pulling out hair from Yoda (Svetlana calls Taps a hairdresser), wrestling with Ari and running with Little Srecko.
Taps' costs per month average about 30 to 35 euros. That includes food, electricity, cleaning and minor vet checks.
Taps does not need any therapies.
